Seun Kuti React To Mos Def Arrest

Seun Kuti thinks the South African government should stop making mockery of the rapper and also stop discouraging young Africans in diaspora from coming back home to stay.

Mos Def (real name is Yasiin Bey), was charged with using a false passport in South Africa and Afrobeat act Seun Kuti has something to stay about that. Seun Kuti called out the South African government, over the recent arrest of the American rapper, Mos Def.  He boldly said the attempt was to make mockery the rapper who was nabbed for entering the country with fake documents.
The afrobeat act took to his facebook page yesterday, (January 22) to express his disappointment and also condemn the act saying it was rather unafrican to discourage blacks who are trying to retrace their roots.

‘The South African government keeps becoming more and more unafrcian. If mos def wants to relocate to Africa he should be encouraged to so as to clear the path for other young Africans in the diaspora to bring their wealth and expertise in various field to kick start the African Renaissance’, he wrote.

Meanwhile, The rapper has been released on bail but would return for court on March 8. His family also has until January 28 to leave the country
He’s been prolific about the whole thing, dropping a freestyle paying homage to Kanye West‘s new track … “No More Parties In L.A.” which he’s cleverly dubbed “No More Parties in S.A.”
Mos Def who is a big fan of Fela Kuti was in Nigeria to perform at the last Lagos Jazz Series.
